Research the Cure – Immune therapy for RDEB SCC

Thank you to Prof Jakub Tolar for joining us earlier this month for our final Research the Cure Webinar of the year.

Jakub is an internationally recognized physician and researcher, known for his care of patients with RDEB. His research is focused on developing cellular therapies for rare genetic disorders. He is the dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School and a Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Blood and Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy.

This was a really interesting webinar where he took us through his research into an immune and cell therapy for RDEB squamous cell carinoma (SCC).

EB-associated SCC is fast growing and hard to treat, and is the biggest cause of premature mortality in RDEB patients, so finding effective treatments is a priority.

Thank you to everyone  who attended. If you have any questions on the webinar, or if there are topics that you would like to see covered at future research webinars, please do get in touch.

Our webinars are free to attend and open to everyone with an interest in EB – to find out out upcoming webinars, visit our Research Events, or sign up to our monthly e-newsletter.
