Feb 02 2026 Cure EB take part in EB 2026 Congress
We were so pleased to be a gold sponsor of the EB 2026 Congress held in São Paulo, Brazil this January. The Congress gathered together the leading EB research funding organisations and DEBRA patient support organizations from across the globe.
It was fantastic to see so many of the researchers we support giving presentations – Prof Alain Hovnanian, Dr Matthias Titeux, Prof Andrew South, Dr Emanuel Rognoni, Prof Fernando Larcher Laguzzi, Dr Rob Hynds, Krstin Ham, Prof Mark Osborn, Dr Alexnader Nystroem, Dr Araksya Izmiryan and Prof Antony Oro – especially for two of our translational projects.
Cure EB founder, Sharmila Collins, was delighted to join academics, people from industry and others at the ‘Innovation Arena’ in the beautiful Albert Einstein Research Center, organised by DEBRA Brazil and DEBRA Research (Germany). She joined the panel to speak from a parent/research funding charity founder perspective on what is needed in the short term to facilitate cures reaching the clinic fast.
The congress was a great opportunity to be in the company of so many other fabulous researchers, clinicians, charities, companies and of course and most importantly, families living with EB. Finishing the congress with our young people with EB on stage was a fantastic moment, and a reminder of the importance of what we are striving for.
