Cure EB Family Day 2025

Cure EB Family Day is one of the highlights of our year, and this year’s event was no exception!

Held once again at Timber Lodge at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, EB families came together with researchers and Cure EB staff and volunteers to connect, have fun and hear about the latest EB research!

A huge thank you to our speakers:

  • Prof John McGrath, who gave an overview of current treatment options and upcoming research,
  • Dr Pablo Lopez Balboa, who summarized the Mission EB results,
  • Dr Rob Hynds, who talked about his research to develop a new therapy for airway disease in Junctional EB, and
  • Dr Richard Williams, who talked about the new eye drop formulation his company are developing which may help EB patients.

Thank you too to the researchers who joined our Q&A panel.

EB research is at an exciting stage, and as a charity we are here to support and drive research in to better treatments and a cure for all types of EB. To read more about the projects discussed at our event, and to see what other research we are funding, visit our Current Research page. 100% of donations to Cure EB go to fund our research projects.

Were you there?

Thank you to everyone who came along – we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did! We’d love to see you at another of our events (in person or online) again soon.

If you’re not already a member of our Family Forum – why not join now? It’s designed by and for people with EB and their families, and it’s free to join. You’ll also be amongst the first to hear about next year’s Family Day!

Can you spot yourself in our photos? We’d love to see your photos of the day too – please tag us if you’re sharing online, or send them to us.

We are grateful to our sponsors for their support of this year’s Family Day.
