Marcela is the Head of the Regenerative Medicine Unit at CIEMAT and Vice Dean of the School of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering Department) at the Universidad
Carlos III de Madrid. Her group focuses on understanding the underlying mechanisms of tissue repair in order to improve skin healing under impaired conditions. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Cell and Gene Therapy and of the European Society for Dermatological Research.
