Fernando is Head of the Epithelial Biomedicine Division at the Biomedical Innovation Department of the public research institute CIEMAT and Associate professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Bioengineering of University Carlos III of Madrid. His research focuses on various aspects of skin regenerative medicine, including cell and gene therapy for rare skin diseases.
